
The 2025 NSSBL season is underway. After fog cancelled the Metro vs Dartmouth tilt Friday night after 4 innings of play, the first game of the 2025 season was officially played Sunday afternoon at Mainland Commons when the Halifax Mets took on the Metro Brewers.
The Metro Brewers snatched the lead late in their 1-0 victory over the Halifax Mets on Sunday. The game was tied at zero in the bottom of the sixth when Alex Ouellette hit a solo home run to center field.
Both teams were strong on the bump. Metro pitchers struck out four, while Cam Ritcey sat down seven for Halifax.
Ewan Galloway earned the win for Metro. Mason Taylor pitched three innings in relief for the Brewers. Cam Ritcey took the loss for Halifax Mets. Josh Tardif collected the save.
Tardif, Ryan Adams, and Ouellette each collected one hit for Metro.
Steve Murphy led Halifax with two hits.
Halifax will now travel to Dartmouth Thursday night for a date with the Dry in their home opener while Metro is scheduled to be off until May 30th when they will once again take on the Halifax Mets.
